Dual-Use Initiative with Vinnova
MedicSolution is one of the selected companies in the Swedish government’s dual-use innovation initiative through Vinnova. The initiative aims to strengthen Sweden’s total defence capability by accelerating solutions that have both civilian and military applications, so-called dual use. These are innovations that create value for society in peacetime but can be rapidly scaled or adapted in times of crisis, disaster, or heightened preparedness.
Since January, MedicSolution has been participating in the accelerator program at Amyna at Ideon Science Park. The initiative was also highlighted in Sydsvenskan and brings together companies developing technologies at the intersection of societal benefit and defence capability. For MedicSolution, the assignment involves further developing the MAX24 offering for regional healthcare authorities and the Swedish Armed Forces over a six-month period, as well as reviewing establishment models suitable for a NATO context.
“Dual use is fully aligned with how we see MAX24. Our solution is designed to meet civilian healthcare needs, but with the robustness and flexibility to also strengthen preparedness and defence. Through the program, we have the opportunity to further refine our offering and position ourselves effectively within Sweden’s total defence structure,” says Jens Sjödahl, CEO of MedicSolution.
Through its participation, MedicSolution gains access to expertise in regulatory frameworks, public procurement processes, and civil-military collaboration – an important platform to ensure that the company’s ultra-mobile healthcare unit can contribute where it is needed most, regardless of the scenario.
